Soft White Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 c warm water
  • 1/2 c warm whole milk
  • 2 T sugar
  • 2 T vegetable oil
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 4 c bread flour
  • 1 T soft butter (not melted)
  • Directions

    1. Mix first 6 ingredients in a mixing bowl.
    2. Add flour.
    3. Knead for 6 minutes using a dough hook.
    4. Add soft butter.
    5. Knead for additional 2 minutes.
    6. Cover and allow to rest for 30-60 minutes (until doubled in size).
    7. Punch down.
    8. Split in half.
    9. Stretch each into a rectangle about an inch thick.
    10. Roll the rectangles into loaves.
    11. Add loaves to buttered bread pans.
    12. Allow to rise for 20-30 minutes (doubled in size).
    13. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
    14. Remove from oven and brush with butter.
